A clinic. 3 administrators. 12 doctors. 80+ appointments per day.
📞 Call — “hold on, let me check the schedule” — 4 minutes of silence — “what time would you like?” — “oh, that slot was just taken while we were talking.”
Sound familiar?
The owner came with a specific pain point: administrators physically can't handle the incoming flow. Peak hours — missed calls. Evenings and weekends — complete silence, even though people want to book.
🛠 What I did
A Telegram Mini App — a patient's personal account right in the messenger.
The patient opens the bot → sees available specialists → selects a date and time from real free slots → confirms the booking. That's it. No calls, no “call back tomorrow.”
⚙️ Under the hood:
— TMA pulls each doctor's schedule from Google Calendar in real time
— When a patient books a slot, the appointment instantly appears in the doctor's calendar
— If a doctor adds an event to their calendar, the slot is automatically closed in TMA
— 2 hours before the appointment, the patient receives a reminder in Telegram
— If they cancel, the slot opens up again
🔄 Two-way sync. Not “export once an hour,” but a live connection.
📱 Why TMA instead of a mobile app?
A mobile app takes 2-3 months of development, a budget of 500K+, and most importantly: patients won't download it. The stats are harsh — 80% delete the clinic app within the first week.
TMA lives in Telegram, which everyone already has. No need to download anything. No registration required. Open the bot — book an appointment.
⏱️ Development took 14 days. Using vibe-coding, not a classic team.
📊 First month results
→ 62% of appointments now go through the bot, not via phone call
→ Administrators freed up ~35 hours per week
→ Number of “lost” patients during non-working hours: from ~40 per month to zero
→ No-show rate decreased by 28% — reminders work
💰 The owner calculated: just from lost appointments during non-working hours — 180K RUB/month.
🎯 What's important to understand
This is not a “booking bot.” There are hundreds of booking bots, and most of them are dead forms that nobody fills out.
The key here is custom logic tailored to the specific clinic. Each doctor has their own schedule, their own rules (some only see patients on even days, some don't work after lunch on Fridays), and different appointment types with varying durations.
A standard builder can't handle that. Custom code did.
