for bloggers to collaborate with
and how to save
on promoting your book?
One of the topics you chose in the poll, so let's continue discussing pressing issues
💌 Where to look for bloggers to collaborate with?
1⃣ LITAB
A Telegram community where you can post about finding a blogger, and also check out the folder with bloggers' ads about collaboration.
2⃣ LitCritic
One of the new features is "ads", where you can post about finding a blogger/author. Since the service hasn't been around long, you have the chance to be one of the first to post an ad.
3⃣ Book Bridge
A service created for finding collaborations between authors and bloggers. It's been around for a while, with a wide selection of bloggers (information may be outdated, so it's best to check via the provided contacts).
💡These are just a couple of services I can recommend to help make your search easier by genre, audience size, and the #barter / #commercial filter.
Another equally important question:
💌 How to save on promoting your story?
It's important to note that you won't be able to save down to zero; at the very least, you'll have to cover the cost of the book. But there are a few basic life hacks that will help you in promotion and save some of your advertising budget.
1⃣ Barter-based collaboration
The basics. This is the option where you only cover the cost of the book.
❌Cons: Barter usually works with micro-bloggers (audience up to 1000)
✔️Pros: For the cost of one collaboration with a large blogger, you can work with 7 bloggers on barter (covering only the book cost), create a mass effect (since your book will appear on several accounts at the same time), and get 7 different reviews.
2⃣ Collaboration on subsequent parts (for series)
You haven't collaborated with a blogger, but they read the first part of your book (paid for it themselves) and liked it — send them the second part on a barter basis (as a gift).
❌Cons: If you don't notify about the gift in advance and clarify the reading timeline, your book might be read six months later, because the blogger's reading schedule may be booked months ahead.
✔️Pros: You know for sure that the first part was liked, so this format of collaboration on subsequent parts will come across as attentiveness on your part and will evoke a positive reaction already at the negotiation stage. This is already your reader; you're just saving them the budget for buying the next part (and you saved yourself from buying them the first part)
3⃣ Maintain social media and promote the book yourself
Not as the main source of promotion, but also very important. You never know which video will end up in "recommendations" and attract a large number of people to your profile, where they'll learn about the book.
❌Cons: Time-consuming in terms of time, creativity, and effort, especially if you have a job.
✔️Pros: Helps build a personal brand, form a base of loyal audience, the opportunity to sell 300+ books with one "viral" video.
To automate the process of collaborating with bloggers, it's important to compose a message properly, answering all possible questions upfront, stating your terms, and describing the story in a concise format.
