When should you start selling?

As always, there are two extremes - some rush to sell even at the presentation stage, while others sell only when every "screw" in the product is polished and there's nothing left to add. Experienced founders say: "If you're not embarrassed by your first MVP, then it's not an MVP."

So how do you find the perfect moment? I did some research and found that point. It sounds like this: you should sell when someone will buy!

The approach is quite simple - we conduct problem interviews. You'll have to do many of them, but after the first 3-5 interviews, we transition from problem interviews to solution interviews. Simply put, first we ask questions, then we show the product. We end the demo with the phrase: "Will you buy?" If the respondent says no, we ask what's stopping them, what we still need to improve for them to change their mind.

We record these interviews. Based on the problem interviews, we change the offer; based on the solution interviews, we refine the product and repeat. Once sales start coming from the interviews, it's time to move to the sales stage; interviews can be wrapped up and we just sell.
