⚡️ Study Finds Microplastics in Nearly All Samples of Living Human Brain Tissue

Nature Health: Micro- and nanoplastic particles are present in almost every sample of living human brain tissue.

Study led by Li R.:
Showed 156 samples of affected brain tissue from 113 patients with brain tumors, as well as 35 samples of healthy brain tissue from five postmortem donors.

Microplastics were found in 99.4% of affected tissue samples and in 100% of healthy tissue samples.
However, scientists cautioned against hasty conclusions: the causal relationship may be reversed - dementia could disrupt the blood-brain barrier, opening a path for plastic into the brain, rather than the other way around.
