On Friday, April 24, X Corp launched XChat, a new messenger available for download on iPhone and iPad via the App Store.

Within hours, the app climbed to the top of the free apps chart in the US App Store, surpassing OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude.
The app promises no ads and full end-to-end encryption using "bitcoin-style" cryptography.
