⛔DON'T do this if you want to travel without stress!

We're talking about the simplest action that parents often do with good intentions — laminating a birth certificate.

The goal is clear — to keep the document intact, at least until the child turns 14. And officially, there are no legal prohibitions against such actions. BUT!

If the certificate is laminated, you won't be able to do 2 important things:

1️⃣ Get a red stamp confirming Russian citizenship (needed for entry into Abkhazia).
2️⃣ Get a mark indicating the issuance of a foreign passport: this is required by the regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

✅ If the document has already been laminated and you need to do any of the above, there is a way out: obtain a duplicate from the civil registry office.

Be careful and check your travel documents in advance so you have time to fix anything if necessary.
