Wanted to go to the mountains, but got a summons 🤦‍♂️

I've been wanting to go to the mountains for a vacation for a long time, to get away from the city hustle and bustle.

It's summer. That means vacation is coming up. My wife and I had just planned our vacation.
And then I went into SMS to find a confirmation code. And there was a suspicious message from number 117:
A summons to the military enlistment office has been sent to you.

At first I thought it was a scam. I went to Gosuslugi. It turned out it wasn't a scam ((
I read what they want. It said:
To clarify information 🤔

But I haven't changed my registration or health since my compulsory military service.

My seasoned analyst brain signaled that something else was going on…

I started asking acquaintances about this situation. And the puzzle came together.
According to acquaintances, after clarifying information, they may issue another summons.
For military training.


What is training? 🤔

You are sent to a training ground for two weeks with your belongings. There you run and refresh your military specialty. The law states that you can be called for training no more than once every three years. But that doesn't make it much easier 😡

New realities of the digital world 🤦‍♂️

Previously, such a summons had to be delivered in person. Now, a summons can be published in the registry, and after 7 days it is considered delivered.

And traveling abroad is even more interesting:
Restrictions may begin as soon as the summons appears in the registry.

And if you don't show up without a valid reason, after 20 days from the date of appearance, quite severe restrictions may kick in:

- problems with registering real estate and cars;
- restriction on driving a car;
- restrictions on individual entrepreneurship, self-employment, and loans.
Separately for non-appearance you may face an administrative fine of 10 to 30 thousand rubles.

As always, interesting restrictions in the era of capitalism. That is, you earn the apartment/car yourself. But they can forbid you from disposing of these benefits 👌
