Admiring the stars of the film 'Dune', one of the most anticipated projects of 2020.

The first footage of the film Denis Villeneuve's 'Dune', based on the eponymous science fiction opus by Frank Herbert, which became the debut of the subsequently cult literary series, has appeared online.

The novel that made Herbert a world-famous writer received the prestigious Hugo and Nebula awards in its time. 'Dune' is rightfully considered one of the main science fiction novels of the 20th century.

Plot

The film will follow the young aristocrat Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), whose family rules the planet Arrakis. In the planet's deserts, a valuable substance called 'spice' is mined, which is required for spaceship flights. Following a military coup on Arrakis, Paul is forced to hide among the desert dwellers (Fremen), and then attempt to reclaim his throne and wage war against the empire.

Denis Villeneuve's film boasts an incredibly star-studded ensemble cast. The lead role will be played by Hollywood's rising star Timothée Chalamet, and he will be joined by actors such as:

Release Date

The new adaptation of 'Dune' is being produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. The world premiere of Denis Villeneuve's highly anticipated work is scheduled for December 18, 2020. Additionally, a prequel series titled 'Dune: The Sisterhood' is expected to be released on HBO Max closer to the end of the year.
