Russia prepares to import jet fuel from Japan due to fuel crisis - Reuters
According to sources, at least 200,000 barrels of jet fuel are planned to be shipped from Chiba, Japan, in the first half of July. The cargo is initially to be sent to South Korea. Several traders are involved in the transaction chain.
Then, the fuel is expected to be transferred to another tanker - likely via ship-to-ship transfer off the South Korean port of Yeosu - after which the cargo will head to Russia, the sources added. The final destination is not yet clear.
According to Kpler vessel tracking data, the previous similar delivery to Russia apparently took place in February 2022: then 22,000 barrels of jet fuel were sent from Yeosu, South Korea. The cargo was delivered to the Far East, to the Vladivostok area.
