Russia, 1919. In the southern steppes, two outcasts meet: a manipulator obsessed with revenge and a genius engineer not of this world. One provides protection in social chaos, the other solves mechanical survival problems. They embark on a journey through burned villages and abandoned estates, using the Civil War as a cover for their goals, but as they approach the finale, their personal demons and the absurdity of the surrounding violence call those very goals into question.
