🏎 Blood, pixels and nostalgia: Carmageddon is back

The racing action game Carmageddon is now available directly in the browser. No installation, emulators or other rigmarole required.

In 1997, the game caused a lot of controversy due to its violence, and in some countries, such as the UK, it was simply banned. To bypass censorship and enter the market, developers had to urgently replace pedestrians with zombies with green blood or iron robots.


The author of the ported version did a great job:
1. Added stable 60 FPS — in the 90s we could only dream of such a frame rate.
2. Finally, you can steer with the familiar arrow keys instead of the NUMPAD keys as in the original.
3. The author added improved rendering with visual effects in the style of the old legendary 3Dfx accelerators. Greetings to Voodoo owners!
