The idea for this post was inspired by the many projects whose presentations I've seen over the past year. They were all seeking funding; some succeeded, but most did not. Why is that?
I used to not really understand what the key to success is. Why do some people succeed? In finding clients, partners, investors?
The internet will gladly tell you: just be cool! Be confident! Take a photo like Steve Jobs! Your presentation design just needs to look 'rich'! Just figure out psychological patterns to manipulate! Just twist and be creative to surprise everyone!
And so 10 years passed. Since I was 19, I tried to create my own projects, copy other people's tricks, come up with creative slogans, make colorful pictures, appeal to instincts, do something genius, etc.
I constantly accumulated experience from failures. They say Thomas Edison tried 1000 materials for the light bulb before settling on tungsten. He said he simply found 1000 ways that didn't work.
Now, with all that experience behind me (participating in SocialFi projects as a community lead, developer, co-founder of a fintech startup, marketer, designer, etc.), I can tell you what that damn key to success is! π
To do this, you just need to... work! Don't be cunning, don't skimp on your energy and time. Don't try to manipulate others. You need to clearly understand why you live, what your mission is, what you want to do in this life, and how. And do it. Work on it. Gain experience in exchange for time, effort, sometimes sweat and blood, suffering. There is no quick path to true happiness. The path to success is strewn with a thousand failures and piles of crap, to quote the book 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck'
What do 99% of those who want to create their own project and find an investor do now?
1. They themselves do not consider this project the work of their life. Therefore, they will not succeed. They will give up everything when, sitting with holey socks and no money for food, they have to call 50 potential clients to survive and bring their project to profitability. Because only with an iron faith in your creation can you lead a project to success.
2. They half-heartedly describe the essence of the project and entrust the presentation to services like Gamma and ChatGPT. So that some machine can defend their project for pennies on the fly? Shame!
3. They cannot plan even a year ahead. Only able to forecast a day or two.
And if you are among the remaining 1%, know that the competitive advantage is yours. Because everyone else in the race is too lazy to reach the finish line.
