The new variety was reported by the agricultural research center-laboratory "Xianghu" in China. They have developed tomatoes with such an aroma, and soon they will begin to grow them, including for sale.

Scientists silenced two genes that suppress aromatic compounds. This did not affect the yield. The center believes that the new variety will improve the taste of vegetables, similar to aromatic rice varieties.
