How to stop losing progress?

In the previous post, we figured out why by evening all determination to be good evaporates.

In this one, I give you a tool to stop it.

Strategically speaking, you need to develop an internal autopilot.

This is when your inner Director can go on vacation, and you still automatically take vegetables with meat and can stop eating when full.

This is exactly the kind of "reprogramming" my clients and I do: we turn complex tasks into autopilot mode.

But until the habit becomes part of you, manual control is needed.

There's no point in relying on willpower; it will run out at the most crucial moment. Instead, create a protocol of actions, a script.

A protocol is your personal algorithm of actions: "If... Then...".

When there's a ready-made plan, the Director doesn't have to think, and the Empress sits quietly because the rules of the game are already set.

For example:

→ I will allow myself to eat dessert, but only after a meal, not separately;

→ if I feel ravenous after work, first I drink a glass of water and eat a pre-prepared portion of protein, and only then decide if I want dessert;

→ if colleagues invite me to a cafe, I choose a dish of vegetables and fish/meat first, so as not to order pizza on an empty stomach.

Why does this work? This approach reduces cognitive load. Fewer chaotic decisions fewer chances you'll come to your senses over an empty pot of borscht.

Most importantly: create your algorithm of actions IN ADVANCE, when your Director is alert and fresh. Trying to negotiate with yourself when pizza is already steaming under your nose is useless.

Let's practice: write one protocol for this evening?
