Vladivostok residents complained about smell and smoke in the Pervaya Rechka valley. According to residents, the carriage depot burns coal to heat the cars, and this spoils the air.

The Transport Prosecutor's Office together with Rospotrebnadzor went for an inspection. Air samples were studied in the laboratory, no exceedances of harmful substances were found.

But violations were still found. The depot does not have an approved sanitary protection zone near residential buildings. And the ash after burning coal is stored in bulk outside the designated area.

The prosecutor issued a representation to the head of the depot. An administrative case was also opened for improper waste storage under Part 1 of Article 8.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
