At the exhibition "All Benois — Everything Benois", which is currently taking place at the Manege, almost ALL Benois were indeed presented. I won't hide it — we got a little lost in them in their works)) But, of course, special interest was aroused by the activities and drawings of the most famous representative of the family — Alexander Benois. Artist, graphic artist, set designer, writer, art historian — how much can one person contain! And be equally successful in everything. Such an example of hard work and passion is very inspiring.
It was curious to study costume sketches for famous theatrical productions ("A Midsummer Night's Dream," "Un ballo in maschera," etc.), examples of pages from Benois's "ABC" amused us, and illustrations for literary texts ("The Queen of Spades," "The Bronze Horseman," "The Captain's Daughter") warmed my philological soul.
A good exhibition, although there is a danger of getting lost in its labyrinths 😃
