In recent weeks, I finally gave in to the wild hype around vibe coding and dove headfirst into it. I installed Claude and bought a subscription.

The first few days were euphoric. Products that I used to order from developers and wait months for, I made myself in one evening. I was really thrilled.

Then I took on something more complex, and that's where errors started to appear. Moreover, Claude would fix something in one place but break something else. I asked it to redo it, and something else would fall apart. And then it hit me: if you don't at least have a basic understanding of what it's generating under the hood, you can't tell a working result from a beautiful but non-working one. Or you simply won't be able to fix a bug that appears.

Now I think of it as an intern with very broad knowledge. It does a huge amount of work quickly. But it needs constant checking and guidance. And there are tasks you wouldn't give to an intern, no matter how smart they are.

Analytics, research, structure, simple prototypes — yes, that's possible. But I wouldn't trust it with complex development and decision-making.
