We've seriously boosted the speed of the GSA app.
Now the first load takes about 30 seconds (we pull all necessary data and cache it), but all subsequent openings take just 3–4 seconds.

This means you wait once, and then GSA is always at hand: open it, quickly find an event, check the map, and head out into the city without waiting for the app to load.
