Such a strong impulse has historically been extremely rare. In past similar streaks, the NDX was higher a year later in 100% of cases, with an average return of about 26%.
At the same time, the average maximum drawdown after the signal was around 8%. That is, after such vertical streaks, the market does not move in a straight line either - overheating, pullbacks, and shakeouts along the way are quite normal.
The record streak was in May 1990, when growth continued for 19 consecutive trading days. The current 11 consecutive sessions are already rare, but the market has not yet reached the historical extreme.
