Work is driving me crazy, I want to change it, but I don't

As I see it, when a topic becomes extremely relevant for me or my circle and requires attention, it starts appearing everywhere. Over the past month, I've been hearing a lot about dissatisfaction with work—during sessions, from friends, colleagues, even from my mom:) So, it's time to figure it out!

If I were an HR or career consultant, I would have an explanation related to market trends, crisis, etc. But I look inside specific situations that share common features.

Any dissatisfaction and being stuck in the position "I feel bad, but I do nothing" often happens not because of external global changes, but due to many small factors that have tangled into one messy ball. I see two components that I want to address: "Why do I feel bad here?" and "Why don't I leave for there?" Sometimes, by figuring out the first, answers to the second question emerge.

Let's start with "Why do I feel bad here?"
Fatigue, difficult tasks, conflicts, toxic colleagues, or a mismatch between your values and the conditions you're in—all mix into one ball. It becomes hard for the brain to understand what exactly to work on and where to move.

To help yourself, try to figure out what exactly bothers you. Set aside emotions and look at the real facts.

1️⃣ Write down 10 things that annoy you here and now. Down to "no free cookies" or "colleague breathes loudly."
2️⃣ Look at this list and determine which are rational and which arise as an emotional reaction because everything is already annoying.
3️⃣ From the remaining rational ones, keep those you cannot influence/change.
4️⃣ "Try on" the remaining facts against your values. Do they conflict? Or not contradict?

Why go into such detail about your current situation? To gain understanding of what to work with next.
When your head is full of chaotic anxious thoughts, accumulated emotions, and fatigue, it's hard to understand the real reason for dissatisfaction. It may turn out that the issue isn't work at all, but that you don't know how to say no and rest. Or vice versa—the identified problems contradict your values, and you're forcing yourself by staying in this place.

Based on the facts identified in step 4, you can determine: "If this doesn't suit me, how do I want it?" And build a bridge to the target picture.

Also, it's worth looking in detail at "Why don't I leave for there?". We'll think about this next time. How do you approach difficult decisions?
