Continuation of the story about Tokenmaxxing: how it works in practice at Disney 🐻

Business Insider published a leak that Disney rolled out an AI Adoption Dashboard — a corporate dashboard where developers see their AI tool usage statistics compared to colleagues. With gamification elements and "streaks" for daily LLM use.
Current statistics for the corporation's engineers:
🔵 10 consecutive days (Uncommon) — achieved by 12% of employees.
🔵 20 days (Rare) — less than 5%.
🔵 30 days (Epic) — only 2%.

And those who write code themselves get visited by managers. A high-ranking engineer who used AI only once in a month received a message from management demanding an explanation: why not using it, whether they distrust the output, and what "barriers" exist.

Developers confirm they feel pressure and are forced to engage in tokenmaxxing, as high token consumption is now considered a marker of engagement and technical competence. They directly say that optimizing token costs is secondary, and if the limit is exhausted, one should simply request a budget extension.

💬 Quote from one of Disney's software engineers from the article:
"I haven't written code by hand in several months. There was a direct push from above — no handwritten code."
