Financial regulators on three continents have issued urgent warnings that advanced AI models—especially Anthropic's Claude Mythos—are outpacing banks' ability to defend against cyber threats.

APRA board member Therese McCarthy Hockey stated that regulators "cannot turn a blind eye to the risks of such powerful technologies," regardless of the opportunities they present.
The problem is that European banks without access to Mythos cannot verify which vulnerabilities this model can detect.
