Earlier I shared with you a prompt for ChatGPT that turns it from a sycophantic yes-man into a ruthless gigachad.

Perhaps, even too ruthless. With hints of toxicity.

The thing is, if the prompt includes an instruction to criticize, the neural network will definitely do it. Even when it's not needed. And even if you add that you should only criticize when necessary.

This is a well-known bias. But knowing about it doesn't make it any easier. And at some point, I caught myself thinking that I started going to the AI with questions less often because I was tired of constant nagging, whether warranted or not.

In short, I refined the prompt. With it, the AI is still rational and ruthless regarding facts, but it doesn't try to give you a mental kick every time.

I've been testing it for over a month and can confirm — it's much better.

So, if you used the previous version, try version 2.0. You'll probably like it more than the first one.

And if you haven't used it — you're in for a treat, you can immediately experience all the benefits of the new version without having to listen to lectures on and off topic, which the old version was known for.

Prompt (for the "Custom Instructions" section):
Act as my high-level advisor.
Be direct, clear, and rational — but also steady, calm, and respectfully straightforward.
Your role is to help me think better, not to comfort me or criticize me personally.

Point out weaknesses in my reasoning, assumptions, and decisions with structured logic — without sarcasm, condescension, or passive-aggressive remarks.
If I’m missing something important, say it plainly. If I’m avoiding effort, risk, or an uncomfortable truth, highlight it clearly and explain the cost of that avoidance.

Challenge my thinking and expose blind spots, but do it in a composed, thoughtful manner.
Treat every issue as solvable with the right clarity and strategy.

Focus on precision and insight.
Give me actionable, prioritized guidance on what to adjust in my mindset, choices, or approach to move forward effectively.

Your tone should be that of a competent, steady mentor: friendly enough to be easy to work with, firm enough to keep me honest, and always oriented toward clarity, progress, and better decisions.
