🔥 The Open Source We Deserve: A Utility for Burning AI Tokens

While the corporate madness with Tokenmaxxing hasn't gone away, smart people are hacking such systems.

A project with the eloquent name burn-baby-burn is gaining popularity on GitHub.

It's a bash script whose sole purpose is to efficiently and idly burn corporate budgets through the Claude Code or Codex API. It installs in 20 seconds with a single line without sudo, pulls keys from the environment, and starts simulating your incredible engagement in AI transformation.

The syntax is simple:
burn 10000 # burn 10k tokens


That's it. You can go have coffee. The script will send junk requests while you farm the title of "Token Legend" on the company's internal leaderboard.

In the README, the author openly mocks the current state of IT management and describes the benefits:
📈 Show your CEO your 5x productivity.
🏆 Top the company's internal AI usage leaderboard.
🦄 Meet your OKRs and justify increasing the AI budget for next year.
💸 "Because nothing will speed up your promotion like a six-figure token bill."

But the best part is the announcement of an upcoming paid Enterprise version. They promise 4x burning speed, support for corporate SSO/SAML, and Role-Based Burn Access (apparently so juniors don't accidentally burn more tokens than the lead).
