McKinsey identifies 10 fundamental shifts. I have highlighted three key, non-trivial ones:
1. Speed and Resilience Today, the winner is not the largest but the fastest. Companies need to simplify their structure (make it flatter).
2. True Hybrid The debate between office and remote work is over — hybrid has won. Offices are becoming places for collaboration, not routine.
3. Focus on Value Creators (Walking the talent tightrope) McKinsey states that in most companies, 20 to 30 key roles (not necessarily top positions) create the majority of value. Management's task is to identify these critical positions and place the most talented people in them.
The ideal company according to McKinsey is a flat structure where AI handles routine tasks and people are responsible for development. The business relies on empathetic leaders, systematically trains the team, places the best talent in key roles, and strictly eliminates toxicity. The main focus is on decision-making speed and employee mental health, allowing instant adaptation to any challenges.
Which trend is relevant for your company right now?
