Let's look at the trends the company identified in the product space. The report deserves attention, if only because all product managers in the world work/have worked with Atlassian products.
🔵 AI saves up to 2 hours per day by reducing routine. However, product managers complain that they still don't have enough time to think about strategy. Interesting, but I can't figure out who's lying 😁
🔵 No matter what lofty goals anyone declares, profit generation remains the top priority for product managers.
🔵 8 out of 10 product managers believe they are currently working on a product that will not be in demand on the market.
🔵 A thousand years will pass, but the hardest part of a product manager's job will remain unchanged: balancing different projects, priorities, and team resources.
🔵 Surprisingly, more than half of companies systematically allocate time to reduce technical debt. I thought the number would be much lower.
🔵 The second part of the report presents several product tools with templates: VMGS: Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies; Opportunity Solution Trees (OSTs), and others. I think we should take them.
The research results are controversial, as some findings contradict basic principles of product management. Either this study reflects reality, or the results are skewed due to incorrect questions. For example, what's the point of asking "Are you worried that your product will be successful on the market?" The answer is obvious: "Of course I'm worried! I care."
What do you think?
