Unlike other project management studies, of which there were many last year, this one has interesting insights:

🔵 Almost half of respondents are dissatisfied with the current level of project management development. The key reason is the huge gap between expectation vs reality.

🔵 Only 38% of projects are completed on time, 41% within budget, and 39% achieve stated benefits. In the product management study, the numbers were similar.

🔵 Daily problems faced: achieving stated benefits, project prioritization, resource management. Year after year, these problems remain unresolved in most companies.

🔵 41% of projects are implemented without a methodology, and 47% without documentation.

Companies continue to struggle with improving the level of "benefits realization" (alignment with strategy) and project prioritization, confidently losing this battle. Perhaps instead, they should focus on stakeholder management and increasing the role of the "project sponsor," thereby solving the problem of matching expectations and reality among key company employees.
