⚡️ Wi-Fi 9. What you need to know
Nokia has revealed its vision for the future of wireless networks with the advent of Wi-Fi 9. This is when speed is no longer the main thing: instead of racing for maximum speeds, focus on stability, minimal latency, and predictable performance in real-world conditions.
According to Nokia, the classic model of "faster is better" no longer works. Future scenarios - from AI to augmented reality - require not just high speed, but instant response and stable connection. The company directly states that the next generation of Wi-Fi should focus on responsiveness, reliability, and predictability alongside speed.
The main driver of such changes should be new types of load. This refers to virtual and augmented reality, cloud gaming, three-dimensional environments, and even tactile interfaces with feedback. In such scenarios, the network must transmit data instantly and without failures, otherwise the entire effect simply collapses.
Among the key requirements for Wi-Fi 9 are real gigabit speeds on smartphones and laptops, not just in the lab. Plus - ultra-low latency below 5–10 ms.
💥 Nokia believes that Wi-Fi 9 will become part of the ecosystem together with 6G networks and the development of fiber optics up to 10–25 Gbps.
The idea is that the user gets equally fast and stable internet everywhere)
