Yandex Cloud Stackland is a new on-premise platform from Yandex Cloud for deploying container infrastructure and managed PaaS services within a company's closed perimeter.

What is it?

It is an integrated platform that is installed on your hardware or virtualization (your own or leased) and operates within the company's perimeter.

Essentially, it's a "cloud in your data center": a Kubernetes cluster + managed databases + object S3 storage + Yandex Cloud services on-premises.

Technology foundation

It is based on Kubernetes, allowing you to use familiar approaches for deploying microservices, Helm, GitOps, etc.

It includes a specialized OS for container workloads, IAM, security policies, secret management, and a unified console (UI) with admin and user modes.

Built-in services

Managed databases: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, plus vector databases for RAG scenarios; OpenSearch and Trino are planned.

Object S3 storage for documents, media, backups, logs, and data for AI workloads.

Yandex Cloud on-prem services: SpeechSense (speech analytics) and DataLens (BI) are already available, with Yandex AI Studio for developing AI applications and agents coming soon.

Focus on AI and analytics

There are tools for managing access to GPUs and high-performance networks (e.g., InfiniBand) for inference tasks and distributed AI workloads.

The platform is positioned as the core of an internal developer platform for hybrid infrastructure: part of the workloads in a private perimeter, part in the public cloud.

Licensing and use cases

It is delivered as a boxed product under a fixed-term or perpetual license, licensed per CPU core; all infrastructure components are included in the license, while items like AI Studio, DataLens, and SpeechSense are purchased separately.

Main use cases: launching and scaling microservice and AI applications in a closed perimeter, building internal cloud platforms, corporate web services, analytical dashboards, and RAG solutions.
