Hello, my conscious ones! 👋 Remember how we used to lie on the carpet as kids?

Well, last year a trend called Adult Tummy Time emerged on social media. Yes, we have officially reached the point where "lying on your belly" has become the fitness lifehack of the year 🍼🧘‍♂

What is it?
It's based on an exercise for infants who are placed on their stomachs to learn to lift their heads and thus strengthen their back muscles. Essentially, it's the Sphinx pose. You just lie on your stomach for 5–15 minutes, reading a book or staring at your phone (but better not!)

My expert opinion:

1. Counter-pose to our lifestyle. We spend all day curled up in an embryo pose over a laptop or smartphone. "Tummy time" is a natural way to combat computer neck, open the chest, and gently restore the spine's natural curve.

2. Lymphatic drainage and digestion. Light pressure on the abdomen is a gentle massage for internal organs. Your intestines will thank you.

3. Grounding. In a world where everything is going to hell, lying on the floor is the fastest way to calm the nervous system. Gravity does all the work for you.

As a yogi with many years of experience, I'm all for effective practices, but let's be honest: this is brilliant in concept, but...

Technique matters. Adult Tummy Time works great as a quick "reset" for the spine. But if in this position your lower back tightens, shoulders rise to your ears, and head tilts back, then something is definitely wrong!

It's not a panacea. Lying on your stomach is beneficial, but it doesn't replace a full practice. Our body is made for movement, rotation, and balance. "Tummy time" is a decent "snack," but the main course should still be full activity.

My verdict: the trend is a quick helper, only if you don't turn it into an excuse to not move at all.

Will you try it? Or do you think a workout doesn't count without sweat and tears? 😄✨
