It's been a while since the excellent GLM Code Plan, which I talked about in Assembly Point, has become noticeably more expensive. Some are still holding on, but many subscription plans are raising prices / cutting limits.

Over the past couple of days, there have been more changes in very popular tools:

1️⃣ GitHub hit the brakes on Copilot. New registrations for Individual plans (Pro, Pro+, Student) are simply paused. For existing users, strict weekly and session token limits are being introduced. And the Opus family models have been completely removed from the basic Pro tier.

2️⃣ Anthropic, without any official announcements, removed Claude Code from its Pro tier for some users. For now, "as part of a test," yeah right. Want to keep coding with the agent? Move to the Max tier. The minimum entry threshold is now $100 per month. A 5x price increase may soon be for everyone.

This is how greedy agent workflows kill the old business model. It's one thing to have autocomplete for a couple of lines or a simple prompt in a chat. It's quite another when you ask an agent to implement a feature, and under the hood it spawns a dozen parallel sub-agents that shuffle giant context back and forth, read files, and hammer the API.

GitHub complains outright: a couple of such long-running parallel sessions from one user burn more server resources than the entire cost of their subscription.

While we argue about whether AI will "replace" programmers, it may suddenly turn out that juniors will be cheaper than models. And models will only be used by big corporations or the wealthy.

Can you imagine having to write code by hand again? AAAAAaaaAAAAAAaaa 🤣 🤣 🤣
