Mom, Mom! I'm on TV
Well, to be precise — for now in Pskov News Feed (PLN) and PAI. Not Channel One (yet), but still, you'll agree, not bad.
On May 27, the 2nd annual AI practical forum for business took place in Pskov, organized by Sber together with the Pskov Region government and "Opora Rossii". The venue gathered industry experts (I'm also kind of an expert) and over 100 business representatives. Oh, and also the robot dog Dimka, but I've already told you about him.
Words from my speech were picked up by media publications with very clickbait headlines, which I can now proudly show off.
What did I talk about?
1️⃣ AI has long ceased to be a toy and has become the infrastructure of the new global economy. Today it is the fastest growing market. I've repeatedly said in the channel that the CAGR of the AI market is 31.5%, and its volume will reach $1 trillion by 2030. That's roughly what the whole world currently spends on mobile communications. Only mobile communications took almost three decades to reach such volumes.
2️⃣ 85% of the largest US and EU companies and 72% of companies in Russia have implemented or are implementing AI solutions in their processes. There are many scenarios, but they can be roughly grouped into four areas:
1. Customer interaction: AI in chats and calls, personalized offers, and the like.
2. Internal routine processes: AI lawyer, recruitment (here's a post about it), document handling, and other joys of office life.
3. Content generation: texts, visuals, audio, video — for marketing and design, for example.
4. IT: AI auto-tests, copilots for code writing, cybersecurity
3️⃣ At Sber, AI transformation over 5 years has brought a total financial result of 1.3 trillion rubles. Even for such a large bank, this is a very large pile of money. For example, AI already participates in scoring up to 90% of loans, and its share in processes continues to grow, gradually eliminating the human factor. AI is also used in legal departments, development, analytics, risks, and almost everywhere it can reach. Literally the first Russian AI bank.
4️⃣ Three technological trends in AI: agentization and merging AI with the physical world, merging AI with the digital world, and hyperpersonalization. Actually, there are many more trends, but this is a big topic best covered separately. I need to dose the pleasure for my esteemed reader somehow.
5️⃣ I'll still give a short spoiler about merging AI with the digital environment. Once upon a time, the internet penetrated almost every digital product. Today it's hard to find an app or program that is not connected to the internet. In the next couple of years, the same will happen with AI. I — we — Sber actively follow trends and simultaneously set them. Recently, our new product was announced — GigaCowork.
Today, to work, you open Excel, 1C, Word, and a dozen other windows. And my particularly advanced readers also open a chat with AI, heroically switching between all this splendor.
GigaCowork should become a single entry point. You write to Giga: "Create an Excel table with plan-actual sales" — and it goes to CRM to check deal statuses, then to 1C to check cash flow, and voila: the table is in front of you. This is just the beginning.
6️⃣ I talked about the risks and challenges of the AI era. This is also a big topic, but I've already covered some challenges on the channel. There is a lot of talk about "will AI replace us". My opinion remains unchanged:
"AI will not replace humans. A human with AI will replace a human without AI."
More details can be read in this post, as well as in those that will soon appear on the channel. I talked about a deepfake case from personal practice, as an example of another challenge in the AI era, about the challenge in the field of "AI weaponization", when technology is used for military purposes, as well as about trust in AI, ethics, law, and security.
In short, at the forum I talked about what I've been writing about here for a long time, my dear readers, so here's another reason to subscribe and tell your friends, colleagues, and all possible relatives about the channel. To always have access to exclusive and unique content of all times and peoples from the most humble author.
