I want to make good product design

My new addition to the library — Olga Pavlova's book "I want to make good product design". The trick of the book is that chapters can be read in any order, for example: Good-product-design-want-to-make-I. You don't need to read the book from cover to cover, but start exactly where your product currently is.

Remember: perfect products do not exist. Focusing on the leading player in your market in terms of design means completely following the lead of their design team. And such teams sometimes do nonsense.

Calculate "goodness" in numbers. Find an opportunity to roughly estimate what can be estimated: LTV, technical implementation parameters, interaction metrics, advertising metrics, aesthetic metrics.

A noticeable percentage of design projects are done to show off. Either to the market: look, we have an update. Or literally to business buddies in the bathhouse: look, I now have an app. Or — the record holder in frequency — to put in your portfolio and quarterly report: here, we conducted a product redesign. You can look at the situation differently: thanks to someone's desire to show off, you have the opportunity to take care of users.

To summarize, this book is not a tutorial on "drawing" buttons. It is about the environment in which a product is born and how to manage that environment. The key word in the title "Want" is a manifesto of sincere desire to make products better.
