I think everyone knows, or at least has heard of, Maxim Dorofeev and his series of books "Jedi Techniques". Maxim calls himself an expert procrastinologist.
Recently I came across his fresh talk at a conference, where he talks about the model of levels of getting things done:
🟢 Level 1: You don't have time to complete urgent tasks. You are disorganized.
🟢 Level 2: I manage to do all the burning tasks, but barely.
🟢 Level 3: I manage to do all the urgent tasks and a little bit of long-term tasks.
🟢 Level 4: Dominance of important, long-term tasks.
🟢 Level 5: A special level, at this level when spontaneous tasks appear, you use them to your advantage and the result is even cooler.
The peculiarity of burnout is that when you are burned out, you don't think something is wrong with you, but you think everyone around you is an idiot. And then, oops, you rest and it seems you can work with everyone again.
I'm somewhere at level three. And you?
